take place. Until the date we
have realized over seven
thousand five hundred

DEPARTMENT OF
PRE-OPERATIVE CARE SERVICE (UCPO)
for its initials in Spanish
(Check for Operative Risks):
Madre
María de San José in its
permanent search of a better
health service, has created a
Department of Pre-Operative Care
with the intention of preparing,
any of the patients that come to
our centre to any kind of
treatment or surgical
intervention, both physically
and emotionally, in order to
make their pre and post days as
comfortable, relaxing and safe
as they can be, and also to
prevent any complications that
could take place during surgery,
as this preparing term has also
the object of making the patient
more confident about our crew
and the surgery itself. |

INTERN MEDICAL CONSULTATION
SERVICE:
Diabetes
Control, HTA, Diseases of:
thyroid, metabolisms, nutrition,
neurology and immunology system,
and the pre-operative
Cardiovascular Exams. |

PRE-ANAESTHESICAL CONSULTING
SYSTEM:
Includes
the patients valuation from the
anesthesiologist.
Search of any surgical or
anaesthetic risks.
Selection of the most adequate
anaesthetic technique.
Explanation referring to any
doubts, questions or
uncertainties that the patient
may present about anesthesia and
its risks. |

ANAESTHESIOLOGY SERVICES:
According
to the type of operation, the
risk, and the length of it, the
valuation of the patient, and,
of course, the consent of the
Surgeon and the patient himself,
the type of anaesthesia will be
chosen. |

ANAESTHESICAL RECOVERY AND
CRITICAL MEDICINE SERVICE:
The
neurophysiologic monitoring
rises the success of the
surgeries, by improving safety
when detecting any kind of
cardiovascular or neurological
affection on time to make the
damage imperceptible if not
inexistent, which is of course
an evident advantage for the
patient. |
POST-OPERATIVE ANAESTHETICAL
SERVICE
We count on PCA Bombs, microjets,
patient controlled anaesthesia,
it’s about a continuous mixture
of powerful anaesthesias that
avoid the post-operative pain
for the subsequent 48 hours from
the intervention. It can be
administrated to the patient by
a peridural catheter. |

PATHOLOGICAL ANATOMY SERVICE:
We count
on this service to process all
the samples of tissue or
biopsies taken from any
intervention taken place in the
centre, including post-operative
biopsies. |

BLOOD
BANK AND HEMATOLOGY SERVICE:
Blood
samples service, type of, and
blood transfusions. Includes:
1. Pre-operative haematological
consulting
2. Pre, during and post
transfusion therapy
surveillance.
3. Auto transfusion and
heterologic transfusion. |

(BACTERIOLOGIC, CLINIC):
At the
Ambulatory Surgery Centre
general tests take place, tests
from which other more specific
or diverse tests come, all in
order to examine the patient
according to the specialty of
the doctor.
